The home of Peter Lehmann Wines Cellar Door is in Tanunda on the banks of the North Para River. The winery is simply magnificent, with its picturesque grounds set amongst tall red gums and sweeping lawns. Picnic tables are scattered across the lawns inviting visitors to take their time and enjoy a local produce platter.
The heart of Cellar Door is the old stone winery dating back to the 1880s, where guests can enjoy wines expressing the diversity of the Barossa Valley including some of the region's oldest Shiraz vines, as well as Australia's most awarded Riesling. The building has been extensively renovated and extended, with old and new blended seamlessly.
Inside the cellar door a cosy, open fire welcomes visitors on cold days. In warmer weather, the creek side lawn area offers scattered picnic tables inviting visitors to take their time and enjoy a Weighbridge platter of local produce.
